Security Officer - Grave

Security
Under general direction, the Security Officer is responsible for the day to day security and of ensuring the casino property is safe and secure at all times. This position ensures that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures and goals. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to; Guest Service, Follow-up Investigations, Asset protection and guest/employee protection. 

The Casino Services Representative, as with all members of the Tamarack Junction Casino Team, is expected to conduct himself/herself in a manner, which demonstrates initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercises confidentiality in the appropriate areas of his/her performance. 
• Guards and patrols various locations on the premises to prevent theft, violence or infractions of Company rules and regulations. 
• Gives directions to Guests and answers questions relative to Company events and/or policies. 
• Reports irregular activities to Shift Supervisor and/or Deputy General Manager. 
• Remains aware of all applicable City, County, State and Federal laws and/or ordinances and deal with violators according to Company policy. 
• Writes detailed reports of all incidents of theft, injury, property damage or other matters affecting Guests. 
• Has a basic knowledge of casino surveillance equipment. 
• Has thorough understanding and working knowledge of the Company Emergency Action procedures. 
• Utilizing standard computer software writes and submits reports in a timely manner. 
• Provides protection for Company property, guests and employees. 
• Keeps Shift Supervisor and/or Deputy General Manager constantly informed of all pertinent information regarding security activities and irregularities. 
• Remains continually aware of and reinforces safety standards and accident prevention. 
• Escorts and/or assists fellow Employees with money deliveries. 
• Assists injured and/or ill Guests until professional assistance arrives. 
• Assists other Company departments as requested or assigned. 
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned. 
• High School or equivalent required. 
• Previous Security experience preferred. 
• Valid Gaming Employee Registration 
• Valid Nevada Drivers License 
• CPR and Advanced First Aid certification preferred. 
• Must have above average communication skills both verbal and in writing. 
• Must understand and be able to apply all applicable laws and/or ordinances. 
• Must possess excellent public relations skills. 
• Must be able to work under pressure.

The Security Officer works on-site at the casino and interfaces with external/internal customers, employees, and vendors on a regular basis. The position work schedule varies and may include Saturday/Sunday, evening and on-call work depending on the needs of the operation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs/ladder; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
