  • Corey Amestoy

    Casino Host/Special Events Coordinator

    Corey Amestoy is the Casino Host/Special Events Coordinator for the Tamarack Junction Casino and Restaurant. Corey was born and raised here in the “Biggest Little City” and is a third generation Native Nevadan. Corey graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a dual degree in Psychology and Spanish. She has been working in the Food and Beverage industry since she was sixteen with positions ranging from Bus Person, Food Server, Bartender, Restaurant Manager and most currently Casino Host/ Special Events Coordinator. In this position it is Corey’s primary goal to ensure guest satisfaction and create an environment on the casino floor that is inviting to customers. Additionally her duties include planning and working special events and promotions like our annual Slot Tournaments, Car Shows, VIP parties and dinners to name a few. It is Corey’s sincere hope that every guest at the Tamarack feels welcome and special, so next time you’re in the Tamarack, make sure you stop and say “Hello!”

  • Guy Archer

    Operations Manager

    Guy was born and raised in Reno. He graduated from UNR with a degree in marketing. He started in the Casino Business as a busboy at Boomtown at 19 and has over 35 years of experience in the industry in a wide variety of positions. When Guy isn’t hard at work at the Tamarack, he enjoys playing golf and traveling…anywhere.

  • Glenn Avilla

    Chief Engineer

    Glenn S. Avilla is the Chief Engineer for the Tamarack Junction Casino and Restaurant. As a team member he coordinates and performs the necessary electromechanical repairs for our South Reno facility. He is responsible for the ongoing development of energy conservation, operational safety and preventative maintenance. Glenn has over 25 years of electromechanical experience with a specialty in commercial refrigeration. He operated his own commercial service repair business in the North Lake Tahoe and Truckee areas for over 18 years. He moved to the West Reno area with his wife of 20+ years and his family. Glenn’s greatest achievements are his 3 sons and 2 daughters. In his mind as a resident of the great state of Nevada a full house, kings over queens is a tough hand to beat. Glenn has an AA degree in refrigeration technologies and currently holds a C38 contractor’s License.

  • Frank Cerrone

    Shift Supervisor

    Frank grew up in the Bay Area and has been married to his wife for over 35 years. He enjoys playing golf, working on his Corvette and spending time at Lake Tahoe. He worked in purchasing for 30 years in various Silicon Valley companies. He moved to the Reno area in July 2000 and took a supervisor position at a local casino where he worked for five years. He and his wife were players at the Tamarack Junction since it opened. He says, “We got to know most of the employees and patrons and it was a fun place to go, like Cheers... where everyone knows your name. And ever since I began working here as Shift Supervisor it really is like Cheers...... now the patrons say, Hey Frank.”

  • Mitch Dettloff

    Steak House Maitre D'

    Mitch graduated from the American College of Hotel and Restaurant Management with a degree in Food and Beverage Management. For the past 25 years, Mitch has supervised staff at restaurants and hotels around the country, which includes 15 years of service at the executive level. Mitch functioned as Director of Hotel Operations at Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno, Senior General Manager with Restaurants Unlimited, Inc. in Honolulu and most recently as Director of Restaurant Operations for Bing Crosby’s Restaurants based out of the Bay area. When he is not working, Mitch enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

  • Dan Eckert

    Assistant Operations Manager

    Dan Eckert is our Assistant Operations Manager. He manages the Cage and Food and Beverage departments. He has an MBA and over 16 years of experience in the gaming industry. Dan has extensive hospitality knowledge and excellent guest service experience that greatly benefit the success of the Tamarack. Dan and his wife have 3 teenage children. He is very involved with the community by participating as a volunteer with the Boys & Girls club and the Baller’s Basketball program.

  • Frank Gibson

    Executive Chef

    Chef Gibson began his culinary career on the East Coast where he trained and worked in the Hamptons, Palm Beach and Key West. He then migrated to Hawaii where he went to work for the T. S Restaurant Group where he became the Executive Chef at Kapalua Grill and Bar and the Hula Grill. In 1998 Frank returned to the Reno-Tahoe area to become the Executive Chef at Jake’s on the Lake in Tahoe City. In 2005 Frank moved down from Lake Tahoe to take the position of Executive Chef for the Tamarack Junction. Chef Frank enjoys all styles of cooking and great pride in the quality food produced at the Tamarack. He lives in Reno with his lovely wife Kathy and his beloved son Frankie.

  • Casey Sullivan

    General Manager

    Casey has worked at the Tamarack Junction since our opening in 2001. Before working at the Tamarack, he worked at IGT and the El Dorado Hotel and Casino. He has been married for over 20 years to his wife Charlotte. He has 3 boys, Kyle, Connor and Keegan and he enjoys golf, bike riding, basketball, swimming and watching his children play sports.

  • Jeanie Taus

    Human Resources Manager

    Jeanie Taus is the Human Resources Manager for the Tamarack Junction Casino and Restaurant. As a member of the management team she provides human resource expertise for the department as a whole and is responsible for organizational development and planning, labor relations, occupational health and safety, and human resource administration. Jeanie has over 15 years of Human Resource knowledge and experience. She has previously held positions of increasing responsibilities in Human Resources from Staffing, Development, Retention, and Brand with various organizations. She has also owned her own Staffing business providing services from developing customized handbooks, staffing, training, and development. Jeanie holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Management with a minor in Business Administration, and is a member of SHRM.

    Food Manager

    Carol Weaver is the Food Manager for the Tamarack Junction Casino & Restaurant. Carol grew up in Morro Bay, CA where she began working in the restaurant industry at an early age. Carol moved to Reno NV in 1998 and loved it here so much that she stayed and devoted herself to a career in the Food and Beverage business. She loves the Reno/ Tahoe area and all of the activities it has to offer. Stop by the restaurants or bars at the Tamarack and say “Hello”.
